Stink Stinkity
Our basement smelt like something nobody should ever have to smell... rotting nasty fish. For nearly a month we just could not get rid of the smell. I thought I new what started it.

A month ago we went fishing and brought home 7 large trout. I cleaned them in the kitchen and took the guts in a garbage back down to the basement, and then planned on taking them to the dump later that day. (Cant leave it outside as it will attract wild life). For one reason or another I didnt make it to the dump that day. The next day it STANK!. I got rid of the yuckiness but the smell persisted. It had been about a month and the smell still lingered. SO, we cleaned everythign in the basement and even bleached the floor. It worked... kinda. The basement smelt like bleach, but the fish smell was gone. We were going to go out fishing later that day (saturday), and when I was getting my fishing gear ready I found the REAL source of the smell! My tackle box!

I opened it up to check for pliars and there sitting in the top tray was a nice, month old, baggie of shrimp!!! (Shrimp is an awesome bait when going after brook trout). The shrip didnt look like shrimp any longer - it had turned to an almost paste, and boy was it rank.

I took the bad and threw it outside (screw the wildlife). At least now the smell is gone. :)
